Police Investigate Disgruntled Boyfriend Who Screamed Obscenities at Girlfriend's Former Employer, Unwanted House Guest

The following information was gathered from the public safety departments of the Grosse Pointes. Arrests do not indicate conviction.

Disgruntled boyfriend 

The owner of Girlie Girl salon contacted Grosse Pointe Woods police Sept. 21 after she fired an employee for several problems, including abuse of sick time, and was verbally assaulted by the employee's boyfriend. The former employee was escorted out the back door and the employee’s boyfriend arrived in a blue pick up truck and started screaming obscenities. The man allegedly also called the salon later and began screaming obscenities. According to a police report, no verbal threats were made against the owner. Both the former employee and her boyfriend were advised not to return to the salon or face a trespassing charge.

Grosse Pointe Farms police arrested a 50-year-old Detroit woman Sept. 24 after she attempted to pass a bad check at the post office on Mack. According to a police report, the woman earlier had attempted to pass a bad check at a post office in Detroit. When confronted, she fled on foot. She later attempted to purchase rolls of stamps at the Grosse Pointe post office, and was was arrested in the parking lot.

Grosse Pointe Farms police were called in the early morning hours of Sept. 23 after a caregiver said she received an obscene phone call from the cell phone of an elderly man she cared for. Police responded to the home in the 200 block of Lake Shore and found the window shattered. The 95-year-old resident reported that he was sleeping when a person entered his room, got undressed and attempted to get into bed with him. The man told the intruder to get out and asked "who are you?" He replied he was "Michael Jackson" and began tugging at the sheets to get in bed. After he was unable to get into the bed, he put his clothes on and left. Grosse Pointe Shores police located the 26-year-old Detroit man at Lake Shore and Lochmoor. He was arrested on burglary charges, and has a warrant out of 36th District Court and a mental order out of probate court.
