Police Investigate Smash and Grabs

The following information was gathered from the public safety departments of the Grosse Pointes. Arrests do not indicate conviction.

The Grosse Pointe Shores and Woods police departments are investigating a series of smash and grab crimes in their communities Dec. 2.

The following thefts were reported to local agencies:

  • Grosse Pointe Woods: A resident of the 1000 block of N. Oxford reported that the driver's side front window of his Pontiac Grand Prix was smashed out, and a radar detector was stolen. There was also pry marks along the window molding. A second resident in the 1000 block of N. Oxford reported that the driver's side rear window of her vehicle was broken, and there was a pry marks along the molding. A speak, laptop and backpack were stolen.
  • Grosse Pointe Farms: A resident in the 100 block of Tonnancour Pl. reported the passenger side window of their vehicle was smashed out, and screwdriver was stuck in the window frame. A radar detector was reported stolen.
