Police Seek Information About Fatal Accident That Claimed Life of the Son of a Federal Judge

St. Clair Shores Police are seeking information from witnesses who may have seen an accident Saturday, that claimed the life of the son of a federal judge.

St. Clair Shores Police are seeking information about a fatal crash Saturday morning that claimed the life of a Grosse Pointe Farms attorney and son of a U.S. District Court Judge. 

According to police, a black 1999 Acura rear-ended a silver 2001 Mercedes Benz about 11:50 a.m. Saturday.  After striking the Mercedes Benz, the Acura continued on and struck a tree on the northeast corner of Harper and Shady Lane.

Both drivers were sent to the hospital and the driver of the Acura, Corbett O'Meara, 47, an attorney from Grosse Pointe Farms, later died.

According to CBS Detroit, O'Meara is the son of U.S. District Court Judge John Corbett O’Meara.

The crash is still under investigation, and any persons who may have information are asked to contact the St. Clair Shores Traffic Bureau at (586) 445-5318.
