Preliminary Exam in Drug Case Connected to Grosse Pointe Park Homicide Begins

A preliminary exam has been started in Grosse Pointe Park Municipal Court and will be completed June 12, 2013.

The Grosse Pointe Park man who has been charged with a drug offense and identified by Wayne County Prosecutors as part of the homicide investigation of Sabrina Gianino appeared in court Wednesday for the beginning of his preliminary exam.
Myron Tyronne Williams, 42, will return to Grosse Pointe Park Municipal Court June 12 for the remainder of his preliminary exam, according to Maria Miller, spokeswoman for the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office.
Williams was arraigned on two felony charges May 22, during which a deputy prosecutor said he was part of a larger homicide investigation. He lived next door to the Wayburn Road duplex where Sabrina Gianino was found dead May 16. Her death has been ruled a homicide by strangulation.
Williams remains in police custody on $250,000 cash/surety bond and will complete the remainder of the preliminary exam in mid-June.
Miller said if Williams makes bond, he will be required to wear a GPS teather and will not be allowed to have any contact with witnesses.
Gianino was a 35-year-old Park resident who worked as the head receptionist at Platz Animal Hospital. Her friends and family held a fundraiser for funeral expenses last week at Marge's Bar, which is down the street from Platz.
Williams is charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana and delivery of marijuana.
