A 19-year-old Detroit man was arraigned on charges that he robbed and shot at a man at Eastland Mall for a pair of new Air Jordan shoes.

Christopher Pratt was arraigned in 32-A District Court on armed robbery, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, assault with a dangerous weapon and felony firearm charges in connection with the Nov. 2 robbery.

According to a Nixle alert, Pratt is alleged to have robbed a 25-year-old man about 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, as he was leaving the mall.

Pratt used a semi-automatic handgun to rob the man of the newly released shoes. During the robbery, the victim was able to flee on foot. Pratt reportedly shot at the victim with a semi-automatic handgun. There were no injuries reported during the robbery, and Pratt fled in a vehicle.

Harper Woods Police were able identify Pratt the same day, and located in Detroit. When he was arrested, investigators recovered a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun Pratt had in his possession. The gun had been reported stolen out of Detroit.

Pratt faces up to life in prison if convicted on these charges. He is being held on $75,000 bond.
