Teen Arrested in Series of Thefts from Cars

The following information is gathered from the Departments of Public Safety of the Grosse Pointes. Arrests do not indicate conviction.

Grosse Pointe Park police arrested a 14-year-old Detroit man March 28 after he was found to be in possession of a stolen cell phone from a car in the 1300 block  of Bedford. The cell phone had been stolen overnight March 25 to 26. During the investigation, the teenager admitted to breaking into four other cars throughout the Park recently. Charges are pending against the teenager by the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office Juvenile Division.

Car Fire Doused

Grosse Pointe Park public safety officers extinguished a car fire March 26. The owner of a Ford Mustang noticed flames coming from the car while in the 800 block of Berkshire shortly after 6 a.m. The fire grew, engulfing the engine. Crews responded and were able to douse it, according to a report.
