Trio Steals Purses from Cars at Mack Avenue Gas Stations

Grosse Pointe Farms and City of Grosse Pointe Police are asking for anyone with information to call 313-881-2100. The trio struck in the City first and then moved to the BP at Mack and Moross a short time later.

police are asking for help in identifying two men and one woman who are believed to have stolen a purse from a vehicle being pumped full of gas shorty after 1 p.m. Sunday. 

The trio had been driving a dark blue Toyota Scion with a license plate of CCQ-0557. They entered the about 1:10 p.m., stole the purse from a vehicle and drove away, according to a press release. 

A bit earlier in the day, the same group is believed to have committed a similar crime at a gas station on Mack Avenue in the . Similar suspects and getaway vehicle were described in both crimes, according to the Farms police.

Detectives are awaiting video surveillance from the gas station to aid in the investigation but have asked in the mean time that anyone with information call 313-881-2100.

Residents are also urged to call if the trio or vehicle is spotted in the area. Police also recommend locking vehicle doors when not occupied, such as when pumping gas.
