Public Safety Contract Talks in Grosse Pointe Park Begin

With tightening budgets and increasing costs, city is looking for ways to preserve public safety and maintain fiscal responsibility. One resident urged council to avoid cuts that are solely focused on saving money.

Mayor Palmer Heenan said he agreed and assured the audience that the council and city officials will do whatever it can to avoid layoffs, preserve the level of service at public safety and offer fair benefits and compensation to its officers.
