Farms Curbside Leaf Collection to Begin Oct. 16

Place your leaves on the street in front of curb after 5:00 p.m. the day before pick-up.

GROSSE POINTE FARMS - Once curbside leaf collection begins, the collection date will be one day after the normal rubbish collection day.

To collect leaves in a timely and efficient manner, leaves must be placed on the street in front of the curb after 5:00 p.m. the day before pickup, but before 7:00 a.m. the day of pickup.

Any spillover or loose leaves (up to four feet beyond the curb toward the sidewalk) will also be collected as best as possible. Leaves may be "stored" in the area between the curb and sidewalk so residents can easily rake those leaves into the street the evening prior to pick up.

In order to minimize traffic obstructions and blocked storm drains, leaves may not be stored in the street before 5:00 p.m. the day before pickup.

Please help the success of this program by adhering to the following rules:

1. No Parking on streets during collection day. Leaf piles not collected because of an obstructed vehicle will not be collected until the following week.

2. Avoid piling leaves over storm drains to help prevent flooding during heavy rains.

3. Do not allow children to play in leaf piles near the street. It puts them in danger of vehicular traffic.

5. Please do not place leaves in the street until after 5:00 p.m. the day before your pickup.
