Grosse Pointe Council Approves New Signage

Following brief site plan reviews this week, two businesses in the Village gained approval for new signage.

New signage will be going up in the Village for CVS and the Grosse Pointe Art Center after the City of Grosse Pointe council approved requests this week.

In the first request, CVS asked to add several "minute clinic" signs to the front and rear of its building to advertise the availability of such services as the flu shot. Four additional signs will be put up. Some are replacing other signs but some are new to the building.

In the second request, council approved a new sign for the Grosse Pointe Art Center that is being custom made out of brightly colored tiles. The sign is in two parts and will adorn the new location at 17118 Kercheval. Additionally, there will be an address portion to the sign.

According to the recommendation, the sign is "highly artistic in nature" and despite being slightly larger than what is currently allowable in the City, the sign meets the "intent of the ordinance."

Both requests were unanimously approved.
