Grosse Pointe Park Refuse Ordinance Altered

The Grosse Pointe Park city council approved changes to an existing ordinance addressing refuse placement by residents.

Grosse Pointe Park city council recently approved amendments to an ordinance addressing the placement of garbage outside of residential properties.

The city attorney began looking at the refuse ordinance after city officials began receiving complaints from one resident about a neighboring resident placing all of his garbage in front of their home.

Language was added to the ordinance to clarify where garbage may be placed on collection day-- "on the curb."

Councilman Daniel Grano said he thought the amended language was too vague. Councilman Daniel Clarke said the intent of the amendment was to have residents put their trash on the curb in front of their own house.

Ultimately, the council approved the amendment unanimously and without further alerteration.
