This Week in Grosse Pointe: April 2

A few highlights of events happening in the Grosse Pointes this week.

There are a variety of events this week in the Grosse Pointes. Here are some of the highlights:

1. The city council will meet Monday beginning at 7:30 p.m. According to the agenda, the council will discuss:

  • a refuse vendor application
  • the official , which includes a millage increase and use of the fund balance
  • the first reading of an ordinance related prohibiting any usage of a property in a manner that would violate federal, state or local laws, which was addressed due to the ongoing legal questions related to medical marijuana

2. The city offices for most of the Grosse Pointes are closed Friday, April 2. The Woods will also be closed Monday, April 9.

  • Rubbish collection will be on time in Grosse Pointe Woods and Grosse Pointe Park. It will be delayed by one day in Grosse Pointe Farms. 

3. Spring break begins for Friday, April 2 and continues through Friday, April 13. Classes resume Monday, April 16.

4. Grosse Pointe Patch will hold office hours Thursday beginning at 7 a.m. at on Mack Avenue. Have a question about Patch, have a story idea or just want some Patch swag, swing by to say hi. We'll be there until 8:30 a.m.
