This Week in Grosse Pointe: June 11

Graduation is among the many big events this week in the Grosse Pointes and for the rest of the students, this week marks the end of the school year and the beginning of summer.

Here are some of the highlights of what's happening this week in Grosse Pointe:

1. Seniors from and will walk across the stage this week to receive their diplomas and celebrate the end of their high school careers. North's ceremony is Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. while South's is Thursday beginning at 6:30 p.m.

2. Mayor Ted Kedzierski will hold office hours Friday June 15 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. To schedule an appointment, call 313-881-6565.

3. The Grosse Pointe Shores Ambassador's Committee will meet Tuesday beginning at 10 a.m. There is no agenda for this committee.

4. The annual Jack Boni Family Perch Derby is Saturday June 16 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Registration is open through June 13 and is $5 per person fishing or $3 for lunch only. Children younger than 5 years old are free. Weigh-in and prizes will be awarded at 2 p.m. at .

5. , will have in 36th District Court. If he is deemed competent, he still must have his preliminary exam. If is not found competent, the preliminary exam hearing will not be necessary as the case will not continue in the crimial courts.
