Here are some highlights of important events scheduled in the Grosse Pointes this week.

There are a variety of events scheduled to happen this week in Grosse Pointe. Here are some of the highlights:

1. The city council will meet Monday beginning at 7:30 p.m. According to the agenda, council will:

  • make two appointments to the Planning Commission
  • accept a resignation from the Planning Commission
  • consider an AT&T long distance contract
  • payments to attorneys

  • a site plan request for 74 Kercheval Ave.
  • a sewer system update
  • bids for the Kerby Road Pump Station improvements
  • road closure for the 23rd annual Grosse Pointe Rotary Sunrise Run, which is in September

3. Choir is hosting a fundraiser with the on Mack Avenue in Grosse Pointe Woods Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m.

4. The annual outdoor concert series in the Village, Music on the Plaza, opens the 2012 season Thursday at 7 p.m. at Kercheval Avenue and St. Clair Street. The first concert features the jazz bands from both and high schools.

5. Good luck to seniors who will be taking exams Monday and Tuesday. Graduation is only a week away.
