A few events happening in Grosse Pointe this week.

 

Here are a few events scheduled this week in Grosse Pointe:

1. The Grosse Pointe Woods city council's committee of the whole will meet tonight.  On the agenda for the council meeting, which begins at 7:30 p.m.:

  • a Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the Fiscal Year Ended 06/30/12
  • Federal Awards Supplemental Information 06/30/12

2. The Grosse Pointe Park council will also meet tonight beginning at 7 p.m. On the agenda:

  • Mayor Heenan and Members of City Council will be asked to consider the acquisition of 3 replacement Public Safety vehicles.

3. The Grosse Pointe Public Schools Board of Education meets tonight at Brownell Middle School at 7 p.m.  On the agenda:

  • Fifth Annual Awards for Distinguished Employee Service  
  • Approval of Gift from the Grosse Pointe Foundation for Public Education
  • Approval of Human Resources Report 
  • Revision to the process for the superintendent's evaluation

4. Grosse Pointe South Band & Orchestra presents its annual Fall concert and fundraising event, Pops & PastriesFriday, November 30 at 7 pm. This is Christopher Takis' inaugural concert as Director of Bands at South High School, with unlimited pastries, a tin-can auction and 50-50 raffle. 

5. The Parcells Holiday Art and Craft Bazaar is the oldest running and largest art and show in the Grosse Pointes.   This year's event is Saturday, Dec. 1 from 9 am - 4 pm.  The collective art and craft shows draws 1,000's of patrons on the first Saturday of December annually. All proceeds benefit Parcells Middle School's Academic and Social Activities. Fostering local talent and business for more than 37 years.
