Wayburn, Kercheval Intersection to Get New Look in Grosse Pointe Park

The Grosse Pointe Park Community Foundation will pay for the addition of a decorative island at Kercheval Avenue and Wayburn.

Renderings are being prepared now by an architect on a "decorative island" to be placed at Wayburn and Kercheval Avenue, according to Grosse Pointe Park's City Manager Dale Krajniak.
The idea first arose as a project by the community foundation and quickly gained approval with city officials. The foundation will pay for the project, which aims to soften the intersection that is the first intersection inside the Park from Detroit, Krajniak said.
He believes the construction will start sometime later this summer or in the fall, he said.
