Killeen, Sheehy to Vie for Wayne County Commissioner Seat in November

Voters from the five Grosse Pointes, Harper Woods and part of Detroit narrowed the list of candidates for the first district Wayne County Commissioner seat from four to two Tuesday.

Current Wayne County Commissioner Tim Killeen and Republican nominee Robert Sheehy will compete for the seat in November after both earned more votes than their competitor in Tuesday's primary election.

Killeen and Grosse Pointe Shores resident Frank Accavitti, Jr., both sought the Democratic nomination while Grosse Pointe Woods resident Robert Sheehy and Grosse Pointe Farms resident Shirley H. Nagel sought the Republican nomination.

The votes were tallied from results shared with Patch from each of the six clerk's offices in the Pointes and Harper Woods, all of which are deemed unofficial.
