10 Employees Receive Honors from Grosse Pointe School Board

Each received a distinguished employee service award and were nominated by one or more employees within the district for their contribution and dedication to the Grosse Pointe Public School District.

The Grosse Pointe Public School Board recognized 10 employees Monday for their contribution to the district, providing each with a distinguished employee service award and a small gift of appreciation.

The awards stem from a new program developed by the board to recognize employees who have gone above and beyond their routine job responsibilities and have initiated a new program or activity.

School Board member Judy Gafa told the crowd Monday that selecting the 10 employees to be honored was difficult because there had been so many great nominations. Gafa along with board member Cynthia Pangborn served on the Distinguished Employee Service Award Committee and made the final selections.
