The school board will have a special meeting Wednesday beginning at 6 p.m. during which they will make the decision about who will fill the vacancy.

Two people among the 22 to be interviewed sought a seat on the board previously--William Broman and Diane Kerabetsos. Neither gained enough votes to oust the board members seeking re-election at the time they ran.

Many on the list have children in the district and are active with their child's school. Allison Baker is a former South's Mother's Club president and regularly attends the meetings. Robin Hartnett is a swim coach and instructor for the district.

Some who are applying have an educational background while others are attorneys in finance or real estate.
