Chef Pam Gustairs will teach a course at War Memorial: These Aren't Your Grandmother's Grains: Bulgur Wheat, Couscous, Farro and Quinoa.
You'll learn about these European and Middle-Eastern standards that are now making an impact in the American food scene. you'll learn to cook with these grains (and couscous, which is a pasta), and how to prepare them. They'll add flavor, variety and a dose of health to many dishes. Recipes include a bulgur wheat salad with grapes and toasted walnuts, grilled veggies with Israeli couscous and black olives, Mediterranean Farro salad and Quinoa with red rice salad.
