Web Design for Artists

Grosse Pointe Art Center is offering a Website Design Class for Artists, ages 15 and up, taught by Jim Corbett of www.eliosystems.com

This class is targeted to artists interested in creating a stunning website with no coding experience. Create a website based on using a pre-configured template to promote your art work. After the end of this four-week session all students will have created a website and published it to the internet. This includes adding their own artwork and music if needed along with all social media setup (Twitter, Facebook, etc). They will have setup payment options, SEO (search engine optimization), best practices, and learn how to keep their website up to date after the class is complete.

Requirements: Must have attended the Jan. 15 Website Setup for Artists class and/or already have a domain along with web hosting setup. Must also have Adobe Photoshop CS3 or higher and Dreamweaver CS3 or higher downloaded to the computer that the student will be using to create their website. A free 30-day demo version of these applications is available at http://www.adobe.com/downloads/.  These applications will be used for photo editing and website creation. It is also preferred if students can bring notebooks to class but not required.
