Grosse Pointe North Band Performs at Disney

The Grosse Pointe North band and orchestra students performed at Disney earlier this month during a weekend long festival featuring high school musicians from around the country.

Grosse Pointe North's band and orchestra musicians performed on the streets of Disney earlier this month as part of a weekend-long festival, earning excellent and superior ratings, according to David Cleveland, the director of insturmental music. 

The group included nearly 130 students performed six concerts during the three day trip. Their performances began Thursday April 11 in downtown Disney and concluded Saturday April 13 at Festival Disney with thousands of student musicians from across the country, according to Cleveland. 

North's Concert Band and the full North Orchestra earned excellent ratings from the panel of judges. The symphony band earned a superior rating--the highest rating available in the festival--from the judges.
