Grosse Pointe North High School Soloists Perform Well in Competition
Grosse Pointe North High School students earned high marks at a recent Solo and Ensemble festival garnering more than a dozen students each who earned first and second division medals.
Grosse Pointe North High School soloists earned first and second division ratings in a Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association State Solo & Ensemble Festival at Farmington Hills Harrison High School recently.
Students were judged on technique, intonation, ensemble, tone and dynamics, according to David Cleveland, director of North's band and orchestra program. All students performing at the state festival received a superior first place medal at the district festival held in January.
