Richard PTO Letter to the Editor:

As a parent organization, our sole focus is the enhancement and support of the educational experience at Richard Elementary. The Technology Bond embodies our primary goal of striving to provide the best possible enhanced learning experience in an up-to-date educational environment. This is essential to allow our children to compete in our current digital age.

The passage of the Technology Bond will allow the teachers and children of Grosse Pointe to have all of the available educational advancements at their fingertips. It will provide our children endless ways to learn in a secure technological environment without having to waste valuable class time waiting for an aging infrastructure to respond. Technological enhancements will allow teachers to expand their teaching style by giving them access to cutting edge tools
and ever-evolving resources.

The PTO has lent support by providing smart boards, laptops, and other technological advances.

Unfortunately, these items alone are not enough to keep up with ever-changing educational advancements. It is not acceptable to have outdated computers and slow (at best) access to the internet in our classrooms. School districts in the surrounding areas have already evolved well beyond our current means. We need to step up before our children fall behind.

Sincerely,
The Richard PTO
