Madison Ristovski has Swagger

University Liggett junior leads team to regional championship.

Madison Ristovski has quick acceleration, an arsenal of moves and the right amount of swagger.  This girl is going places.

The University Liggett junior scored 31 points over Bishop Foley on March 8 in the team’s regional semifinal game. 

Two days later, she scored 21 points against Cabrini to lead her team to the Class C regional championship.

“Madison controls the game for us,” University Liggett varsity basketball coach Wayne Gigante said.  “If she weren’t on the court, it would be a different ballgame.” 

“She is a serious player,” said Gigante.  “I think she’s the best in the state.”

1.  What's the newest song on your ipod?

Madison – The newest song on my ipod is My Girl by the Temptations.

2.  Who is your favorite teacher at University Liggett and why?

Madison – My favorite teacher at Liggett is my pre-calculus teacher, Mr. Dwaihy.  He is incredibly funny and a great teacher.  I’m able to understand math better then ever before because of him.

3.  What are your hobbies outside hockey?

Madison – Besides basketball, I love to read.  My favorite authors are Nicholas Sparks, J.K. Rowling and Stephanie Meyer.  I also love spending time with my family either at home or at the gym.

4. What is your favorite Grosse Pointe restaurant and why?

Madison – My favorite restaurant is definitely Thai Café.  The food is amazing and people who work there are wonderful.  My favorite dish is chicken kow pad.

5. Please list three words that best describe you.

Madison – Passionate, competitive and easy going
