The last project of now retired Superintendent C. Suzanne Klein is a photo book capturing the happenings in classrooms throughout the district.
The book, A Day in the Life of Grosse Pointe Public Schools: 8,500 Students, 16 Schools, 1 Day, features photographs of several professional photographers who volunteered for the project.
The photographers went into a variety of classrooms at each of the district's schools last school year to capture a typical day from gym to art to social studies and science. The book is available for purchase through the district for $30.
Proceeds from the books will go to the Grosse Pointe Foundation for Public Education and will be used to fund additional grants the foundation already offers to enhance curriculum as requested by teachers on a case-by-case basis.
