Students From The Grosse Pointes Recognized by Albion College

Students from the Grosse Pointes have been accepted into the Honors Program and Carl A. Gerstacker Institute for Business and Management at Albion College.

Students with roots in the Grosse Pointes have been recognized by Albion College.

Two Grosse Pointe residents  have has been accepted into the Albion College Carl A. Gerstacker Institute for Business and Management. Gerstacker members must complete degree requirements in economics and management, along with courses in ethics, writing, speaking and management, and fulfill at least two internships in different business settings, according to a release.

The students accepted include:

  • Joseph Pompey, of Grosse Pointe, who is a graduate of De La Salle Collegiate High School.
  • Michael Rieth, of Grosse Pointe, who is a graduate of Grosse Pointe North High School.
Also, three students have been accepted this fall into the Prentiss M. Brown Honors Program at Albion College. Honors students are required to enroll in four "Great Issues" seminars in humanities, science, social science, and fine arts. In addition to the seminars, Honors students must graduate with a 3.5 cumulative grade point average and produce an Honors thesis, according to a release.
  • Alexis Ahee, of Grosse Pointe, is a graduate of Regina High School.
  • Mary Maher, of Grosse Pointe Farms, is a graduate of Grosse Pointe North High School.
  • Savannah Rana, of Grosse Pointe Farms, is a graduate of Grosse Pointe South High School.
