Wanted: 8-10 Adults for GP Schools Focus Group

Grosse Pointe Public School System is looking for feedback from residents who do not currently have children in the schools for Friday.

Grosse Pointe Public School System is looking for eight to 10 adults who reside in the community but who do not have children enrolled in the district to participate in a focus group about the district.

The group will participate in a 75-minute discussion about the district, including feedback about the district's strategic plan, perception of the district's strengths and goals.

The discussion will also include information about what characteristics and qualities residents would like to see in the district's next superintendent. Current Superintendent C. Suzanne Klein announced her retirement for December. She has been the district's longest serving superintendent and worked for the district for more than 40 years.

An independent research firm is conducting the discussions. The district has already had the panels at each of its schools, according to a release from spokeswoman Rebecca Fannon.

This group is slated to meet Friday, April 8 from 1:15 to 2:45 p.m. at the district's administrative building on St. Clair Street. Anyone interested in participating is asked to call 313-432-3007 or email Fannon.
