Whiz Kid: 2 Generous Monteith Fourth Graders

Cameron Harbin and Aiden Houle worked on a donation project related to books. By encouraging other students and neighbors to get involved, they were able donate more than 200 books to two organizations.

  • Age: 9, 10 respectively
  • School: Monteith Elementary School, fourth grade
  • Accomplishment: Generosity and donation to those less fortunate.
  • Key to Success: "I have a student in my class who has in the past been encouraged by his family to donate toys at Christmas time. This year he recruited other classmates and neighbor kids to donate books. He was able to donate a library of 150 books to Detroit Head Start and another 95 new books to the Good Fellows organization in time for holiday distribution," said his teacher Jodie Randazzo. She also recognized Houle who helped with this donation project.
