Whiz Kid: Math Competition Winners

Thirty-one students from St. Paul Catholic School took fourth place in Wayne County for the Michigan Math League Contest.

  • Accomplishment: The middle school team took fourth place in Wayne County in an annual competition with the Michigan Math League Contest.
  • Key to Success: These children competed against other schools with students in the same grades in a state wide competition in the area of mathematics. Many of the students placed individually in the competition, several taking first place. The goal of the competition is to gain and maintain interest in mathematics by the students. 

Every Wednesday a child in the Grosse Pointes will be recognized for his or her achievements and identified as the Grosse Pointe Patch Whiz Kid. Submit nominations via e-mail to Sara.Martin@patch.com. Nominations must include the nominator's name and contact information, the whiz kid's name, age, school, accomplishment and key to awesomeness.
