In his current position as a Small Business Development professional with Midtown Detroit, Inc., Scott provides technical assistance, financing, business plan, and real estate services to over 1,000 small businesses in Detroit’s Midtown Area

As President of Hickory Block Club, Scott leveraged $2,500 of matching grants to provide $10,000 in home improvements for block club members

Delivered over $30 million in commercial development, over 300 new jobs, and $500,000 in tax revenue annually to Detroit & Michigan.

Sought and received $750,000 in financing to a community service center which includes over 100 Head Start classroom seats, a University of Michigan technology hub, & an adult literacy program

Created a $500,000 low interest loan program for small businesses along the Mack Avenue Corridor

Scott’s major priorities as a legislator include: replacing lost jobs and creating new ones, improving access to quality education and emphasizing a focus on the STEM disciplines, helping local businesses compete in the 21st-century economy, and facilitating the creation of a regional transit authority.
