Ewing Makes His Points for Liggett

University Liggett sophomore leads boys basketball team on the court.

Sophomore sensation Eric Ewing has led to a 13-1 record this season with his energy and maturity.

Ewing averages 15 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals per game. He has scored in double figures in all but three of the Knights’ games this season and has posted 20-plus points in three games thus far. He scored a season-high 25 points game against Sterling Heights Parkway Christian.

"Eric is a tireless competitor who has continued to improve every facet of his game this season,” University Liggett basketball coach Sidney Johnson said. “We expect great things from him now and in the future."

According to Liggett’s assistant coach Alex P. Hurley, Ewing is "a leading candidate for MVP for the MIAC Blue Division."

"His growth as a mature, responsible young man is becoming more and more evident every day," Hurley said. "The leadership qualities he possesses for a person of his age are uncommon. He's a great teammate who unselfishly cares only about winning. It is an honor to coach Eric Ewing. I look forward to being a part of his many continued successes throughout the remainder of his high school career.”
