Grand Valley State's Giancarlo Brugnoni Earns Baseball Honor

Grosse Pointe resident and De La Salle graduate Giancarlo Brugnoni receives first-team honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association.

Grand Valley State baseball player Giancarlo Brugnoni, a Grosse Pointe resident and graduate of De La Salle, earned first-team American Baseball Coaches Association Midwest Region honors.

He is now eligible for All-American status.

Brugnoni, a sophomore first baseman, hit 15 home runs this season, the second-most in Grand Valley State history, according to the Holland Sentinel.

He also batted a .339, scored 41 runs and drove in 48 runs.

Grand Valley State finished the season with a 43-16 record.
