Their game began Wednesday but weather stopped the competition twice, leading to officials calling it quits for the night and rescheduling for Friday.
The Pirates quickly evened the score Friday to a 2 - 2 tie, but the A's brought their bats and ultimately took the victory, Race said.
During the second game, the A's were down 7-1 against the Pirates but came back to win the title 9-8, according to Eric Armbruster.
