Grosse Pointe Gymnasts Prevail at Fraser

Grosse Pointe United finishes first at Fraser Invitational.

The Grosse Pointe United Gymnastics team finished first at the Fraser Invitational on Saturday.

Grosse Pointe United ended up with 136.85 points to lead the nine-team field. Plymouth was second with 134.70 points, and Troy was third with 132.10.

Grosse Pointe gymnasts also placed first in every individual event, as Emma Abessinio won the uneven bars, floor exercise, and individual all-around, and Madi Kaiser tied for first place in the vault and balance beam events.

Abessinio also placed eighth on vault and third on beam, and Kaiser took 10th on bars and third on floor and in all-around.  

Other Grosse Pointe team members and awards included Fran Kay (fifth vault, ninth beam and ninth floor), Sarah Fentin (third vault, sixth bars, fifth beam, eighth floor, fourth all-around), Aubryn Samaroo (fifth floor) and Ashley Krynski who led off on beam with a stuck routine for Grosse Pointe.
