Grosse Pointe South Boys Swim Team Defeats North
A meet Tuesday ended in South outscoring their rivals at Grosse Pointe North High School.

The Boys Swimming and Diving Team dropped a 114-72 decision to Tuesday night.
Justin Rakowicz was a double winner for North taking the 100 yard freestyle in D2 state qualifying time and the 500 yard freestyle.

North had three single winners:
- Christian Mellos taking the 200 yard individual medley in D2 state qualifying time
- Matthew Leone taking the 100 yard backstroke
- James McNelis winning the 1 meter diving
Mellos second place time in the 100 yard breastroke was also a D2 state qualifying time.

Season best performances were recorded in the following events:
- 50 yard freestyle: Graham Eger, Anthony Cafagna, Chris Ghanem
- 100 yard freestyle: Justin Rakowicz, Stuart Haigh
- 100 yard backstroke: Matthew Leone, Ryhs Williams
- 100 yard butterfly Evan Williams
- 200 yard individual medley: Michael Reith
- 1 meter diving: James McNelis and Graham Eger
North is now 4-5 (0-4 MAC Red) in dual meet competition.
