Grosse Pointe North Swim Team Falls to Dakota

Kayleigh Gehlert, Emma Mathews and Olivia Asimakis win events for Grosse Pointe North.

The Grosse Pointe North girls swimming and diving team dropped a close 98-87 decision to Dakota on Tuesday night.

North event winners included Kayleigh Gehlert (200 yard individual medley), Emma Mathews (100 yard freestyle), and Olivia Asimakis (100 yard backstroke).

Season best performances were recorded in the following events:

  • 50 yard freestyle: Emma Mathews, Katelyn Kohler, Jillian Fenner, Karyn Schwartz, Gabrille Shimko, Allison Fly, Susan Hartzell, Jennifer Hawring, Blake Moncur, Amber Giesking and Claire Schaden.
  • 100 yard freestyle: Emma Mathews, Jillian Fenner, Allison Fly, Hannah Atherton, Jennifer Hawring, Susan Hartzell, Laura Dobbs, Sydney Eger, Mary Emerick Amber Giesking and Maria Mermiges.
  • 200 yard freestyle: Blake Moncur,and Hannah Atherton.
  • 500 yard freestyle: Ann Marie Nicholson and Karyn Schwartz.
  • 100 yard backstroke: Olivia Asimakis.
  • 100 yard breastroke: Kayleigh Gehlert.
  • 100 yard butterfly: Olivia Asimakis and Brooke Ford.
  • 200 yard individual medley: Juliette Tripp and Laura Dobbs.

North is now 1-3 (0-2 MAC Red) in dual meet competition.
