Grosse Pointe South Girls Basketball Suffers Heartbreaking Loss in Final

’s girls basketball team lost a heartbreaker in the state championship.

Grand Haven guard Shar’Rae Davis’ basket in the final seconds lifted the Bucs to a 54-53 victory over Grosse Pointe South in the Class A state championship game on Saturday in the Breslin Center at East Lansing.

Grosse Pointe South led for much of the game and built a double-digit lead in the third quarter.

But Grand Haven rallied to take the lead late in the fourth quarter and the two teams traded the lead in the final moments before Davis won the game for the Bucs.

Grosse Pointe South, , finished with a 23-4 overall record.
