Grosse Pointe South Golfers Lead at State Finals

Shield leads the way for the Blue Devils at first day of state tournament.

leads after the first day of the Division 1 girls golf state finals at the Meadows at Grand Valley State, according to mhsaa.com.

The Blue Devils posted a four-player score of 348 Friday to lead the 15-team field. Plymouth is in second place and six strokes behind with a 354.

Tenley Shield led Grosse Pointe South and is tied for eighth overall with an 85.

Other top scorers for the Blue Devils were Ella Pendy (87), Claire Boyle (88) and Lily Pendy (88).

The tournament will conclude Saturday.
