Grosse Pointe Hockey Teams Skate in Semis

Boys hockey team takes on Port Huron Northern in Division 2 state semifinals on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Plymouth's Compuware Arena.

Grosse Pointe is a high school hockey town.

All three high school teams—, Grosse Pointe South and —are still alive in the state tournament and will compete in the semifinals this week.

And with two more wins, all three could be state champions in their respective divisions.

will skate in the Division 2 boys hockey high school semifinals against Port Huron Northern on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Plymouth’s Compuware Arena.

On Friday, University Liggett will take on Chelsea at noon in the Division 3 semifinal at Compuware Arena. Later Friday, Grosse Pointe North will play East Kentwood at 8:30 p.m.

Tickets to the game are $6 for the two-game semifinal sessions (Division 1, 2, and 3).

All of the games also will be broadcast live online on MHSAA.tv and FoxSportsDetroit.com.

Grosse Pointe South has a 21-5-1 overall record, and Port Huron Northern is 17-10-1. The winner of the game will play the winner of the Forest Hills Eastern-Brother Rice game in the Division 2 state finals on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Compuware Arena.

University Liggett is 25-3 overall, and Chelsea is 21-4-2 overall. The winner will play the winner of the Houghton-Grand Rapids Catholic Central game in the Division 3 state finals on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Compuware Arena.

Grosse Pointe North is 14-14 overall, and East Kentwood is 19-9. The winner will play the winner of the Brighton-Orchard Lake St. Mary's game in the Division 1 state finals on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Compuware Arena.
