Knights Host Catholic Central In Baseball Showcase

Top high school baseball teams square off in doubleheader this afternoon beginning at 4 p.m.

It’s not often you get to see a baseball game in the middle of May that promises to have a playoff feel to it.

There most certainly will be a postseason atmosphere Wednesday at 4 p.m. when takes the field against Detroit Catholic Central.

These two squads are among the top programs in the entire state. Liggett (12-1) comes into the game ranked No. 2 in Division 4 according to the latest Michigan High School Baseball Coaches Association poll, while C.C. (15-5) is among the top teams in the Catholic League’s Central Division—a division widely considered to be one of the best in the state—and a perennial title contender in Division 1.

The bottom line is that this twinbill at Liggett, paced by standouts Dominic Jamett, Alex Daar and Connor Fannon, is worth a few hours this afternoon if you want to see high school baseball at its best.
