North Boys Swim Team Competes Against Fraser

Grosse Pointe North High School boys swimming and diving team loses to Fraser 102-84 on Tuesday.

Despite winning 8 of 12 events the Boys Swimming and Diving Team dropped a 102-84 decision to Fraser Tuesday night.

Christian Mellos and Justin Rakowicz were double winners. Mellos took the 200 yard individual medley and the 100 yard breastroke in D2 state qualifying times. Rakowicz notched D2 state qualifying times in taking the 200 and 500 yard freestyle events. 

Matthew Leone won the 50 yard freestyle while Peter Shea was victorious in the 100 yard freestyle.

Season best performances were recorded in the following events:

  • 50 yard freestyle: Graham Eger
  • 100 yard freestyle: Peter Shea, Patrick Turnbull, Bernardo Simoes and Chris Ghanem
  • 200 yard freestyle: Danny MacAskill
  • 100 yard backstroke: Rhys Williams
  • 100 yard breastroke: Patrick Turnbull
  • 100 yard butterfly: Anthony Cafagna

North is now 5-7 (0-4 MAC Red) in dual meet competition.
