Viewfinder: Little League Parade

Dozens and dozens of Grosse Pointe little leaguers showed off their spirit Saturday during a parade through the Farms and the City to kick off their season.

Parents armed with still and video cameras lined the route and some on the route had parties early Saturday to watch the Grosse Pointe Farms-City Little League parade.

The parade began at 10 a.m. on Moross Road. It was led by a police squad car and two fire trucks. Dozens of pickup trucks were decorated with team themes and the backs were filled with little league players.

Some chanted during the parade, others waved and cheered and yet others danced to music they were blaring from their trucks.

The parade weaved its way through the Farms and the City ending outside the baseball fields on Waterloo Street. Farms and City mayors, James Farquhar and Dale Scrace, rode in the parade waving at the fans lining the streets.
