Play Central is a drop-in, open play group where kids can be active and caregivers can socialize.

Starting October 2, the program is offered on Wednesday and Thursday mornings from 9-11 a.m. and afternoons from 12:30-2:30 p.m. in the gym at Barnes Early Childhood Center, 20090 Morningside Drive, in Grosse Pointe Woods. No pre-registration or reservations are required, and families can come as often as they like. Each session costs $5 per visit for the whole family.

Some participants come once a month, some come every Play Central session. Some even invite friends or their mom's group to meet there. With four sessions per week, one will surely fit into your schedule.

The format is open, so you can let your children's interests direct you. It's a great opportunity for young children to scamper around and practice their large motor skills, and run, ride or crawl off some of that energy. They will meet many children their age and may even make a great new friend. And while they practice their social skills, caregivers can chat with other adults.
