My name is Valerie Kindle, and I am a Democrat candidate for State Rep in the new House District 1.
I currently serve Harper Woods as a Planning Commissioner and as a member of the Ordinance Committee, and as a Precinct Delegate. I’ve been attending Harper Woods Council meetings for years, and you’ve seen me on occasion at school board meetings in both the Pointes and Harper Woods, as well as at local events. Also, I am a former Michigan Works Employment & Training Specialist and State of Michigan Youth Specialist, and was a Gubernatorial campaign aide to David Bonior.
Additionally, I am an Executive Board member of the Grosse Pointe Dems (and have their endorsement for my nomination) and am a longtime member of the Grosse Pointe League of Women Voters.
From charity and volunteer work to helping implement legislation for Aging Out foster care, and being instrumental in campaigning to maintain Affirmative Action in Michigan, further yet to serving our local communities and the Democratic Party at local and state levels, I have "been there, done that" and seek to continue working for YOU as a the new House District 1 State Representative.
We all want what is best for our community -- for our children, our families, and our neighborhoods. I've been here for my community since the day I moved in as a homeowner 10 years ago (and even longer in Detroit). I've been with you and listened to you, and I want to continue to work with and for you as your new State Representative.
