GPPS Board of Education to Meet, Greekfest Returns and Football Teams Take the Field This Week

Here are some events to add to your calendar this week in the Grosse Pointes:

• It's back to the gridiron for the Grosse Pointe North and South football teams Monday for the first official day of football practice.
• The Grosse Pointe Public Schools Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Monday. The board will consider recommendations of the Board of Education Technology Steering Committee and will hold discussion on the technology needs of the district and a proposed technology bond. 
• Whistle Stop Hobby Shop's annual Lego building contest begins Monday. Young builders can submit their creations through Saturday.
• The four-day Greekfest opens Thursday at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church.
• The Grosse Pointe Woods-Shores Little League takes the field in the Little League World Series at 3 p.m. Friday against Eastlake Little League from Chula Vista, CA.
