Grosse Pointe Schools Closed Wednesday, Childcare offered

Grosse Pointe Schools will be closed Wednesday, and will be offering child care for elementary-aged students. Other schools will also be closed Wednesday due to the weather.

Grosse Pointe Schools will be closed Wednesday due to the continued cold temperatures and weather related conditions, the district stated on its website.

To assist families, the district will offer childcare for students in kindergarten through fifth grade from 7:15 a.m. - 6 p.m. at Ferry, Monteith and Trombly Elementary Schools for $35 per child.

Students do not need to be registered with the Kids Club program to utilize the day care option, but parents will need to provide emergency contact information at drop off and a lunch for their child. Parents with questions about childcare can call (313) 399-1985.

Additionally, the 8th Grade Parent Info Night at both North and South High Schools has been cancelled. The district is seeking an alternate date.

Other school closings in the Pointes include:

  • Assumption Nursery School
  • Our Lady Star of the Sea
  • St. Clare of Montefalco
  • St. Paul on the Lake Catholic
  • University Liggett
