Grosse Pointe South Choir Benefit Concert, City Meetings Planned for This Week

A blood drive, benefit concert and Chamber of Commerce are among the events planned this week in the Pointes.

Here are some events to look forward to this week in the Pointes:

  • Grosse Pointe Park City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in council chambers. Among the items on the agenda will be a request to locate a micro-brewery in the city.
  • The City of Grosse Pointe City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in council chambers. Among the items on the agenda will be a request for a variance to move an existing historic structure to 553 St. Clair.
  • The American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive in Trombly's gym from 2 - 8 p.m. Tuesday.
  • The Grosse Pointe Chamber of Commerce will hold its 2014 Annual Membership Dinner and Pointer of Distinction Awards Thursday at the Country Club of Detroit.
  • A benefit concert for the Grosse Pointe South Choir will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at Brownell Middle School. The concert will feature the choirs from Grosse Pointe South, Brownell Middle School and Pierce Middle Schools. Tickets are now on sale www.gpsouthchoir.org and at Posterity Gallery in the Village This concert is the last opportunity to see parts of the performances the Ambassador Choir will be taking to London and Paris in mid-February.
