Racing for Kids, Blood Drive and Football Kicks Off This Week
Football, a racing-themed celebration and a blood drive are among the events planned for the coming week in the Grosse Pointes.
Here are some events to add to your calendar this week:
- The Grosse Pointe North Radio Astronomy Team will be is sponsoring its annual blood drive Tuesday.
- The Grosse Pointe Woods Planning Commission will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in City Hall. Among the items to be considered include requests for wireless towers in the steeple of Crosspointe Christian Church and at the Milk River Lift Station.
- Racing For Kids, in conjunction with merchants and businesses on The Hill, will be sponsoring the annual street fair celebration for the community Wednesday with a sidewalk sale, music, events for children and auction in the evening.
- The 2013 football season opens at 7 p.m. Thursday for Grosse Pointe North and South. North opens the football season at Lakeview High School, and South welcomes University of Detroit.
