Service for K-9 Officer Raleigh, Lego Movie Preview and More This Week

Fencing class, free-throw contest and a memorial for K-9 officer Raleigh are among the events planned this week.

Here are some event to add to your calendar this week:

  • The Grosse Pointe War Memorial will hold a fencing class Mondays starting Jan. 20 - March 31. All equipment is provided; wear sneakers and exercise clothes. For more information www.warmemorial.org.
  • The Knights of Columbus will hold a free-throw contest Tuesday at Star of the Sea.
  • The City of Grosse Pointe will have a memorial celebration for K-9 officer Raleigh at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Grosse Pointe Unitarian Church.
  • The Grosse Pointe Theatre 
  • Get prepared for the Lego Movie with a special preview event at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Barnes and Noble.
